Melanie Sanniola has been studying dance for 20 years. She began her studies at Ms Huguette's Dance Studio training in classical ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, pointe, lyrical, and contemporary. Throughout her training she attended many intensives including Studio Maestro, the School at Steps, the Rock School for Dance Education, Kate Weare Company, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, the Bates Dance Festival, and the Cunningham Trust Workshops. She has extensively studied modern techniques Horton, Nikolais, Cunningham, Contact Improvisation/Partnering, and is currently studying Limon Technique.
Melanie recently graduated from Mason Gross School of the Arts (Rutgers University) in 2016 with a B.F.A. in Dance Cum Laude and was a recipient of the James Dickson Carr Scholarship. She has worked with choreographers including Jessica Lang, Nick Bruder, Kate Weare, Jennifer Freeman, Kim Gibilisco, Keith Thompson, Paulette Sears, Randy James, Doug Elkins, and John Evans. As a member of the Movement Playground she has performed at the John F. Kennedy Center (Washington D.C.) and Jacob's Pillow.
